Approach
How a Redewell review works.
Every review follows the same method, so you know exactly what you will get and can trust how the judgements were reached.
Method
Five steps
The same method for every review, so findings are consistent and comparable.
Agree the questionA short call to settle what you need to know, the evidence, the days and the fee.
Documents and dataA fixed request list. Anonymised extracts by default, with pupil codes, not names.
Seeing it in practiceObservation and conversations with leaders, staff and pupils.
Findings in writingA draft within 10 working days of the visit, a factual accuracy check, then the final report.
Next stepsAn optional briefing for leaders, governors or trustees.
What you get
Judgements you can rely on.
A three point scale
Each area is judged Secure, Developing or At risk, with the evidence behind it. There is no overall grade, and nothing that imitates an Ofsted judgement.
Two sources
Every judgement rests on at least two independent sources of evidence, cited in the report.
Plain English
A focused report in plain English, with a prioritised action plan that leaders, governors and trustees can act on.
Boundaries
What I do, and what I don't.
Reviews look at systems, leadership and practice, never at individual children. Where something needs another professional, I say so.
I do not provide legal advice, diagnoses, educational psychology, occupational therapy or speech and language assessment, statutory SENCO work, physical intervention training or building regulations sign off. Provision design is educational advice for your architect and specialists to check.
Any safeguarding concern is passed straight to the school's designated safeguarding lead.
Trust
Confidentiality, data and interests.
Reports are confidential to you, and I never name a school or trust without permission. I ask for anonymised information wherever possible, keep data secure, and delete source information within 30 days of the final report.
I am a cofounder of GoSafeguard, a safeguarding software company. Redewell is a separate business. I do not recommend products in which I have an interest, and I take no commission or referral fees. Redewell is independent and is not connected with or endorsed by Ofsted. I do not take on work that would conflict with my other contracts.
Let's talk
Twenty minutes is usually enough to know whether a review would help.
If it would not, I will say so, and point you to free support instead.
